Made by people who live here

We’re a couple based in Tokyo, and from the very beginning, travel has been at the center of our relationship. Over time, we fell deeply in love with Japan and eventually made the decision to move here. Seven years later, it’s become the place we call home.

Throughout those years, we’ve explored Japan extensively through photography and personal travel, documenting destinations across the country.

We've welcomed many friends and family members who came to visit, and we always heard the same question.

“Where should we visit in Japan?”

Those conversations eventually shaped the idea for cheku. We began imagining a simple way for travelers to keep track of the places they visit, something tangible that brings back the feeling of a trip each time you look at it.

It led to the two of us working late into the night, learning many things from scratch. We began imagining the variations, carefully curating each destination and refining all the details.
